  • Radiating Christ
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away,
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing
God alone suffices.

St. Teresa of Avila
Thelma Angeles practiced psychiatry for years providing service to many patients with varying clinical presentation from a very challenging mental dysfunction to a normal emotional reaction to a stress. Her ability to empathize with clients enabled her to gather a thorough evaluation leading to a well-considered diagnosis and treatment plan. In addition to providing supportive therapy to patients, she carefully discussed the risks and benefits of various treatment modalities including the use of psychopharmacologic agents when clearly indicated. Her treatment plan addressed the possibility of multiple medications interacting with one another which could lead to unintended side effects. Other topics explained to patients were the concomitant diagnosed medical problems like seizures, hypertension, diabetes, irregular heart rate, stomach ulcers, weight gain, insomnia, headache and a host of other medical issues which may or may not be the direct cause of their emotional and behavioral concerns. When necessary, she made appropriate consultation with other physician specialists, psychologists, social workers or other clinical providers, and made referrals for urgent or emergency care.
After her 2012 retirement from government service,
Thelma started a private practice in October 2013. In May 2020, she has transitioned her practice to telepsychiatry for her current patients only.
